Even though I do happen to think there are advanced races travelling the stars, I think crop circles are just an elaborate form of anonymous performance art.

I have seen numerous TV specials of people making crop circles, so it is definitely doable by people and to me you'd think a spaceship knocking corn over would wake up a farmer.

I never got the people who thought they were alien ships... I mean, flying saucers are, um, saucer-shaped, and crop "circles" are rarely just circular markings in the ground. I mean, when's the last time anyone saw a Mandelbrot-shaped UFO (I recall seeing a crop circle in the shape of a Mandelbrot set once). Oh sure, the ones that are just a circle in the corn, I can understand, but most of them are extremely elaborate designs. *shrugs* Whatever, I personally subscribe to the "Sometimes corn just needs to lie the fuck down" theory. Damn corn.

Most of the proponents of the UFO theory say the simpler ones are usually real and recognize that people are making the more complicated ones.

There's this mystery park in Switzerland, a theme park dealing with the "unexplainable" and last year they had an exhibition on crop circles. Most mysteriously, a day before it was to open a crop circle appeared for no apparent reason in a nearby field. The press coverage and the crowds it attracted you can imagine.

That little true story says it all for me ... it can only be aliens:D
