Can I have both visible and invisible enemies on the same screen?

Hmmm... I think you can't, there should be an enemy rule for individually selecting the invisible enemies.
I hope someone corrects me if I'm wrong.

If I erased the sprites for an enemy, then selected that enemy for a screen, would that produce the desired result?

Yeah, but permanently, the enemy will be invisible in any screen, and you will not be able to see it with the amulet.

By replacing the enemies sprites with what you want them to look like. Check the "New Enemy Tiles" PDF file to see what enemies use what tile numbers.

If you don't know how to edit enemy tiles, you go to "Quest -> Data -> Graphics" in ZQuest, and then click the tile you want to edit and it hit, you guessed it, the edit button to edit it. :p
