I finally got the OS X version ported again. I've posted the link the the original ZC 2.11 Beta 6 (http://www.armageddongames.net/showthread.php?p=1050794) thread.

Alright, sorry if this has been answered elsewhere, I haven't been paying much attention to this public beta thing, but is there something special I need to do besides mount it to get it to run? When I run ZC, either the program opens and closes right away, or it opens and the text colors are messed up.

When I run ZQ, it tried to load a quest but cannot decrypt it, causing the program to freeze.

Any suggestions? Oh yeah, just a side note, I miss the gold zelda cart icon from the older osx betas :P

I think you need Mac OS 10.2 or later to run Zelda Classic for Mac OS X. I had the same problem

I have Tiger (10.4.4 to be exact) so that shouldn't be a problem..

Well. I always ran 10.1.8. I guess that shut me up

I am running Tiger and can't get the player to run either. ZQuest seems to be fine.

Look for an allegro.log file. It may be stored inside of the package. Post its contents here and I'll see what I can find out.

It hasn't generated an allegro.log file that I can find. However, I can give you a bit more information on what exactly happens.

With ZC, the program opens in windowed mode just fine. I can get to the point where I want to select a quest, but when I do, no matter what quest I select, it says "Error: unable to open file."

With ZQuest, the program opened in full screen mode. It tries to decrypt a quest but fails, and it says press any key. Which does nothing. You have to restart the computer.

Dunno if any of that helps.

EDIT: Problem solved. I moved the programs from where they were originally mounted into a new folder, and I added the allegro file to it (since it could not be added to the original disk volume). Fixed everything. Two questions though. Is it possible to enable right-clicking? Also, Is there any way to run ZQuest in windowed mode?

There's an option in the Etc menu that lets you toggle fullscreen.

My allegro.log file:

Do you have the newest allegro.dat?
Sorry for being a n00b.

I did download the new one. Do I need to somehow put it into the app package or does it just need to be in the same directory?

Okay, so it works perfectly as far as being able to run it, so are there any specific things pertaining to the OSX version that you would like me to test?
