I've been reading about a beta mode that was left in OoT. I understand you need a gameshark 3.0 to access the beta realm and mess around in it. But I don't have a gameshark so we're not doing that. ;p Is there any other way of going about this knowing that I'm using a rom to screw around with?

I think that there's not a way to use it without the GameShark, There's also one in Super Smash Bros. Melee, but you also need a GameShark :( . And where did you read about that beta mode?

I just googled "zelda 64 beta" and this is the first page and pretty much all I've read. Everything is pretty much the same thing but reverberated.

What emulator are you using? If it's Project 64, that has built in Gameshark support.

I've been using PJ64 1.6. The only gameshark support I see are the codes it already has pre programmed in. I don't see any other way to enter codes other than the ones that are already there. Though, there are codes for beta mode, but they look like they're for when you're already in beta mode. And they make PJ64 crash anyway.

Cool link man.

Before OoT came out, there was a Nintendo Power issue with 100 preview pictures, all from the beta version of the game. They were pretty interesting, and it is amazing at how different (and how much better) the final version turned out.

Try right-clicking on the list of codes in the gameshark code menu. If that doesn't work, you could always find the file which actually contains the list of codes (cheats.chm, I think) and edit it manually.

all emulators should have it built in where you can manually enter codes, i guess.
