HI Everyone !!
I'm a Zelda junkie from way back...
Just found ZClassic and was wondeing if anyone
could tell me how I add cheat codes to the quests
I have been playing on the graveyard shift

Is one cheat code the same for all the quests, or do
I have to get them from the author ??

Thanks in advance!

Ladydeb :)

I think you usually have to get them from the author, if they have any. :)

bummer...........

wish someone could create an " infinate lives " code for all the zelda quests

*b*
01-04-2006, 06:17 PM
impossible, and there's no point. you can continue an adventure as many times as you want. and, the author of the quest can't change the cheats. the cheats that come with Zelda Classic are all there is

firefly

Using the "lives" cheat could be a replacement for "unlimited" lives, but you'll have to keep pressing "*" all the time if you don't have any extra heart containers.

how about.....trying to get better at playing the game? That way you don't need cheat codes! :D

There are several cheating programs (by me alone) and some others by other coders. You should learn to use google. You can find lots of magical shiney things. I think the last one I did was called ZConsole. I have the code for several in many forms somewhere on backup discs. One thing to keep in mind with all cheating programs is to make sure that it's compatible with your version of ZC.

erm2003
01-07-2006, 12:36 PM
Maybe people should give credit to the program for any quests they complete, not themselves. The only time I used cheats is when I ran into major quest errors when I could not proceed or when I beta tested my own quest. I don't have them enabled because with all the forum help that is out there and the fact that anyone can PM me, you can get all the help you need. I just feel like using cheats on finished quests when the cheats weren't released by the makers is just lazy... but that's just my two cents.

DarkFlameWolf
01-07-2006, 01:00 PM
I never put cheats in my quests, not because I'm lazy, I just don't want them in there.

erm2003
01-07-2006, 01:37 PM
I don't have them either. What I was saying is using the other programs when the quest maker never intended on cheats to be used is the problem. There is so much information that can be obtained for when someone gets stuck through the forums that it makes the person using the cheats look lazy because they want the fast solution instead of a little trial and error or getting assistance in the forums.

I'm playing mario.quest and that's the only quest
I can play from my quest list
I tried ZConsole, but it only works with the ZQuests
and I want to play the games, not create them :-)

You're most definitely mistaken. ZConsole is for cheating in quests while you play them. I've never released any programs that affect the ZQuest quest editor. If it did not work for you, you may be using the wrong version of ZC or ZConsole as they must match version numbers. ZConsole will tell you what version it is programmed for in the title bar or about box. It also may or may not work for you if you are using an older windows such as Windows 95/98/ME. Or if you have an older ZConsole for an older ZC it might not work in Windows NT/2k/XP. These were related to differences in windows kernels and how some version of ZConsole functioned. I believe the last one I released works for both Win9X and beyond.

System Error, HD Xtreme was an exception. That quest is ridiculously and absurdly hard. Octoroks on crack and death knights were par for the course. It was reasonable to include just the first two levels of cheats.

well, if I'm understanding correctly, some you can't open because they are passworded by author's design. You can't open up a quest if it is passworded.

I don't think you understand. You CAN NOT OPEN other people's QST files in ZQuest if they protect it. It's just tough shit for you because no one is going to help you open someone else's quest. You could ask the author of the quest, but chances are the answer is no.

I wrote the zHelper program. If you use it, you are lame, fair warning. I made if for newbies to use if they can't quite find something, or figure something out. (I often get frustrated playing quests.) The only thing that you are cheating is yourself by using the tool.

By the way, it is only for v2.10, and I offer *no* support. It was just a quick application I wrote in about 15 minutes.

i already suggested 1.92 beta 183

get a better host as this one acts incredibley strange they keep changing no matter what browser you use and i am yet to find the 1.90 trainer

i've encountered all links point to 2nd trainer.zip
and i've encountered all links point to 1.92.zip

and to top it off sometimes it acts like a direct link but the file extension disappears. (meaning you need to rename the file and add the .zip extension to it)
