1)How do I use custom tilesets(such as Pure) in zquest?

2)What is the allegro file for?(and how do I use that?)

3)The sound effects database in the downloads section is a .dat file, I've never seen such an extension, how do I use that?

Thanks.

1) Simply open it with ZQuest if it is a .qst file the one you downloaded. If it is a .zgp file select File--Import--Graphics pack.

2) ???

3) To edit it you must use the grabber.exe file, you can get it on older versions of Zelda Classic.

For #2, if it isn't already in ZC's folder, download it from the appropriate link on http://www.armageddongames.net/forumdisplay.php?f=126 and then take the file and put it in the same folder as ZC.

Yes, but do you know how to use it or modify it?

Yes, but do you know how to use it or modify it?

you don't use or modify it, it's the library that zelda classic is built with, each version has to have the correct allegro.dll in its folder in order to run.

Well, I already knew that, but I thought that there was a way to modify it... :(

Firefly, you said "open it with", does that mean to drag the file over the zquest execute icon or what? Sorry if I sound like a complete noob but I generally dont get explanations that have implied words or actions in them, I need it thorough and clear :confuse2: .

Ok here's my situation for the tileset in detail. I downloaded the "Pure tileset Update Extreme" at Pure ZC (http://www.purezc.com/index.php?page=tilesets&pn=2). It says it uses version "1.92 B182" but 182 doesnt exist so I assume its a typo and means B183. The file is called "PTUX.qst". So how do I get the tileset within this file to be used in Zquest B183?

just open it as a qst and start building

You don't need ZC 1.92 beta 182 to use it, just open it with any version newer than 1.92 beta 182.

Ok, Im prolly just daft.... How do I open it? Step by step preferred because I know I'll screw something up along the way. Again sorry for my lack of understanding and thanks for your time.

In Zquest.exe, click in file--open and move into the folder in which you saved PTUX.qst (I don't know where, obviously), then press enter in PTUX.qst and there you are.

On #3 you can't use 192 sfx.dat to upgrade to 2.10! This really screwed it up for me!
