~ The Legend of Zelda: The Heroes Burden ~

Since I'm new here, and most places don't respect "n00bs", I suppose not everyone will be willing to check this out, but this is a quest announcment thread.

I posted s bunch of crap at the PZC Fall Expo, an here are some shots... Oh, and these are very old. This is when I begun making minor edits/ additions to the Pure Set. The Quest has come a long way since some of these shots...

This is the article that was posted at the PZC Fall Expo:

Background
I have been working on the quest on and off for the last couple of months. I really like how it is turning out and stuff. Originally, this was going to be a quest using only the Pure set... It was going to have one BS overworld and six large dungeons... It was called "N00b Quest Pure Edition". I then began to add stuff to it. As I added other gameplay elements the near completed BS overworld posed a problem... I needed a larger overworld so I expanded it to several more D-maps... Now this quest is about 10% complete and has a distinguished graphic style.

I stopped working on this project for about a month when I got my new computer because it would not support ZC 2.10 properly... It still doesn't but I am trying to work around this. (ADDED NOTE: As of now, I'm back on my old one that supports ZC perfectly))

The Game
By the time it is finished I hope to have:
- About 10 full BS overowrld maps
- Nine classic level/ triforce dungeons, three extra, but required dungeons, two hidden and unrequired dungeons, and super hard hidden dungeon, and many other item grottos. So that make a total of 16 full dungeons plus many smaller ones...
- It features mostly graphics from the Pure Tileset, but I have also ripped some graphics from other Zelda games into the pure set. Most of the tiles can be found in the Tile DataBase... I used some custom tiles as well.
- I hope to have a game that is fun to play, challenging, and not too linear. I want this to leave player thinking "Damn that was awesome... Where's the sequel?"

ADDED NOTE: The paragraphs pertaining to the demo ahevbeen removed since the demo is no longer avialable.

Thank you :)

Final Words and Crap
So what do you guys think of this quest? I'm not releasing the story...

Well I have to admit I haven't been paying much attention to this quest before, but based on those screenies I'd say it seems to be much better than those basic everyday Zelda quests. ;) The overworld(s) sounds huge, and it seems you've been helped by some really experienced ZC people which is always a good thing. There won't be any custom bosses in the quest, will there? Well it doesn't matter, I wish I can find some time to try this quest whenever it is released.

Of course :)

I'm going all out this time, so you can expect some cool custom bosses and stuff...

Heh, and I thought the quest I intended on making was gonna be big (well, it is, but not as large as this), even though I have barely started it. Heck, I might even change out the tileset I'm currently using. Anyways, this quest looks like it's gonna pwnorz. By the way, when it is finished, how long do you estimate it's gonna take, including / excluding the optional stuff?

Not bad for a n00b. heh. Some of your screens do need a bit more detail but you are definately off to a good start. I'll keep my eye on this one.

Your quest looks very challenging. Like what you did with the graphics.

As far as a release date goes, I couldn't tell you. A safe estimatre would be late 2006, early 2007...

A new demo will be avialable at teh PureZC Spring Expo in May. So, if you want a new demo check that out.

Simply put, wow. The graphics look amazing and well-detailed. Can't wait for the release! ;)

(BTW, Hyrule Feild, as in the screenshots, should be Hyrule Field. Sorry - I'm just very picky. :D )
