Here it is, the long-awaited beta 6. Many bug fixes, many tweaks, many improvements/enhancements.
Those of you who didn't download it from the Merry Christmas thread here (http://www.armageddongames.net/showthread.php?t=89431) will need to download the full thing.
Zelda Classic 2.11 Beta 6 (Full) (http://darknation.armageddongames.net/zc/zc211b6.zip)
If you already got that one, just get the slightly updated zquest and player from the link below. It fixes a couple of bugs and omissions in beta 6 as well as switches the ZQuest icon back to the Triforce on a blue background (for nostalgia, I guess).
Zelda Classic 2.11 Beta 6 (Programs Only) (http://darknation.armageddongames.net/zc/zc211b6d.zip)
Edit:
I forgot to mention that you will need to download the modified alleg42.dll in order to run the new beta. Just unzip the following file into the same directory that you unzipped the beta into:
alleg42.dll (zipped) (http://darknation.armageddongames.net/zc/alleg42.zip)
Edit:
The Z3 subscreen tiles are locked (at the moment) to specific locations and CSets (generally, 0, 1, 7, 8, and 9). If you want to see how it is set up, download this file:
subscreen.qst (http://darknation.armageddongames.net/zc/subscreen.qst)
Go to the tile selection screen and drop down to page 54. That is the beginning of the Z3 subscreen stuff (it continues for a couple of pages).
Let me know if you have any questions about it.
Edit: Reuploaded new Zelda-W and ZQuest-W programs (second link above). Zelda-W should run in a window now. ZQuest-W should use less system resources now.
Edit: Here is the Mac OS X version:
Zelda Classic 2.11 Beta 6 for Mac OS X (http://darknation.armageddongames.net/zc/Zelda%20Classic%202.11%20Beta%206.dmg) (15.2 Megabytes)
Yes, I know that the mouse pointer flickers/ghosts terribly in ZQuest. I have no idea why this is. The problem goes away if you switch to windowed mode from the Etc. menu (click Fullscreen to exit fullscreen mode).
