What features is 2.11 Beta going to include? Is it going to fix the majority of the bugs?

Thanks

Actually, there already was a report on ZC 2.11 beta 2 in the forums under ZC Discussion --> Zelda Classic ongoing Beta reports. The final post was an update from September on the progress. I haven't seen any updates since. Maybe someone else has a more recent one?

Topic moved.

And we'll have more progress when we have more progress :(

I heard you're aiming for a release this month. Is that still the case?

I think they are going to release it in 2008. Well thats what I heard...

If you want more information I would also do a search for ZC 2.11 in the forums over at PureZC. There are threads there with a lot of information as well as some screen shots from people who are beta testing. It's pretty cool.

Hey dont mind me,I was a little nervous about release dates and all I can say is what 3DRealms say
When its done

I was going to close this because of the 'don't ask us when the next beta is coming out' rule, but then read his post again and realized he never asked that. grrrrrr
But anyway, I'd hope it fixes a lot of bugs. I refuse to update all my quests from beta 183 to 2.10 because of all the bugs I've read about.

Hey the program is more important then the test quests tough.

Well.. a while back I released a copy of a quest to the public that used the latest beta.. I was allowed to release just the player, but you can somehow feel the changes that have been implimented.. Go take a look at this Demo (http://www.purezc.com/forums/index.php?act=ST&f=97&t=15528&). :) Enjoy!

That new beta is totaly wicked! Except for the diagonal walking. Can probably get a little annoying after a while. More great work from the developers of ZC, DarkNation and Jman, and the rest.

I couldn't tell though. Was it using more than 16 colors?

Yes, the palletes have been enhanced to 256 colors per CSet I believe.

Not yet. :(

It's just that each tile/combo can now use all 256 (224 actually) colors that ZC can display at once without having to use any of the wierd CSet2 trickery.

Yeah, it's like, ... it's on a -very- individualized basis, done just about entirely within the Tiles Pages. You press "B" on a tile, and when you edit it, you have the entire Main Palette at your disposal instead of just a single Cset. So you can use -all- of the Csets within the Main Palette. Very cool. :p

That should make things look pretty cool. Definately worth waiting for!

Yeah, it also has it where you don't have to use rupees for arrows. It now uses arrows for arrows. So once again more like LTTP. And I'm thinking they'll go for a Christmas release. I'm not sure, like ZeldaLord said they are trying for a release this month. I'll try to get some more info on this. No, I'm not a beta tester, I just have sources.

I can assure you that there is no way we can have a full release ready anytime soon. Sorry.

Also, will we be able to modify all the csets in each level palette with this, or will it still be limited to 2-4 and 9?

Still 2-4 and 9. Every other Cset is used for something else, and as long as ZC's color depth remains 8-bit, it's going to stay that way.

correct me if I'm wrong, but, CSet 5 isn't used for anything. couldn't that be included in CSets?

Questwizard88

I normally include cSet 5 in my level palettes through palette cycling. It's an easy way to do it, but can be slow in some areas because it still cycles, even though it is only a length of 1. Oh well, it shouldn't be too hard to do what i want to do with only those 5 csets.

224 colors. My sister likes to make movie quests, with no actual playing involved. Think of the color and detail that she could put into those!

Well, I'm sure that the longer we wait for it the less bugs there are. Now as long as it don't come out in 2008 I'll be fine. I hope it comes out sometime next year.

Nope. :p

Keep working on your quest, and get a tileset ready to work on for the 2.11 release -whenever- it comes.

2.11 I know that it has more to offer than 2.10 but how much more? And I take it there are too many bugs right now for a release.
