My Mario Kart DS bundle comes in next week, and I'm thinking about getting this Protective Filter to put on the touch screen so it doesn't get so scratched up. (it is also supposed to reduce glare

Has anyone else used this product? Do you think it is worthwhile?

Haven't had any need for them so far and I'll pass. The touch screen doesn't get scratched easily from the stylus, thumbstrab, or touching it with your fingers from my experience. Mainly used it for seals in Castlevania, menus, SM 64 DS minigames. I heard there was some kind of film on the screen to prevent it from being scratched up.

There's a topic about it at the Penny Arcade forums

i wouldnt get the filter just on principle. why would a company come out with a product then not include something that i consider essential along with it....well money is the obvious reason i guess.

Well, you could say that for a lot of accessories I guess

From what I've heard, the touch screen of the Nintendo DS is surprisingly durable, but eventually it will get scratched. (even with someone like me who takes extra care of their electronics) I just thought getting some kind of protector would help prevent that.
