I just started playing this quest (Ok, well I did a couple days ago), and I got to level 4 (the dark, ransacked dungeon). I beat the 4 headed dragon and got the book. Directly after that, I had to stop playing, so I quit and saved. The next time I started playing, it started me in the room where the book was, except my character wasn't there. I can't move anywhere; I can't do anything. Is there anyway to get out of this without starting from the very beginning?

if you are playing it in ver. 2.10, then you are screwed. If you are playing it in any beta 1.92 past 183. Then there is hope to save the game. Simply download beta 183 ver. 1.92 and then copy the save file over to the new directory. Should be fixed. All my quests are best played on beta 183!

But here's the good news: You'll be able to get through the earlier levels a little faster--now that you know how to get through them.

doesn't look like he wants to though. Which is okay. Beta 183, imo, seems to be the most stable of all the versions and the one I'll continue to use until there is a stable 2.10 version that has NO more game-ending bugs. (and that includes that patra bug that sprung up again out of nowhere)

I use 1.84 because of that map bug which is all the more annoying on a large complex overworld like HD or IOTW, I forgot several times that I'd used the map once already when I was playing 1.83 and - crash!
1.84 is save-file-compatible with 1.83 so I can copy back and forth if I run into the continue bug.
