Is anyone getting sound in the latest beta? I'm getting it ... ... pretty much nowhere. :odd: No real conditions have changed anyway since the last beta's sound, which seems to have worked fine. Maybe I should replace the allegro with the 2.11 Beta 1 or something. I dunno ...

Poll's up there ...

Do NOT use the old Allegro DLL. Trust me, you don't want to do that.

All sounds work and sound good for me.

The allegro I'm using came directly from the Allegro .zip file you had included in the Beta download thread.

The one inside the new beta zip itself? or the Allegro DLL in the previous beta thread? Do NOT use the latter.

... Ah ... It was This File (http://www.cgi101.com/~jman2050/DLLs.zip) within This Post (http://www.armageddongames.net/showpost.php?p=1036276&postcount=6) within This Thread (http://www.armageddongames.net/showthread.php?t=88154&page=1).

Why, is it somehow different? Didn't DN post a new allegro which he claimed fixed the midi reverberation / stack bug? Because that's the most recent version I have, directly besides the DLL you had posted in that post I'd mentioned just a few inches above.

first off, the DLLs.zip file doesn't have the allegro dll. It has the two MSVC C runtimes that some people MIGHT need for this to run. The alleg42.dll file you need is actually INSIDE the beta zip file.

Alright, well there you go, in terms of which file I have.

Then why isn't it working? XD I unzipped all of the zip files I had into a freshly made folder, and played it -straight- ... ... So ... Now I'm trying to figure out why it isn't working. :p

I'll try different things at home. I hope nobody else is having this problem.

I'm not getting any SPC playback, but other than that I get sound just fine. Is this also an allegro bug?

*Sigh* ... Definitely no sound at home, ... volume turned way up, ... Speakers on, microphone off, then turned on, no change, ...

Don't know what to say. :/ ALthough if more research can be done, I can see if there is a potential problem with our code and act accordingly.
