As some of you may be aware, I went to Disneyland Paris this week. I thought I'd let everyone know that what I did during my 4 days if Disneyfication. If that's even a word.

DAY ONE

We left our cosy little home at 6 in the morning. (Wha..? Too... early...) and made our way to the EuroTunnel. Not sure if any of you have been on this, but it's quite a nice way to go, as long as people don't get out and walk around. It looks really freaky. Anyway, after emerging in France, we drove over to the Davy Crockett ranch were we'd be spending the next few days. (Note: By this point, I finished the book I'd brought with me. A whole book in around 4 hours. Oh dear.) The cabin itself was very nice, and I decided to take a picture of me every day, for some reason. Here's me on Day One (http://homepages.tesco.net/steveemarsden/Disney/Me1.JPG). Come and get it, ladies.

After settling in, we left for Disneyland. We got there at around 2:00ish French Time and my parents proceeded to embaress me right off the bat. Fortunately, my camera is actually a camcorder, so in case I ever need to murder them, I can prove it was justified (http://homepages.tesco.net/steveemarsden/Disney/Evidence.AVI). That aside, we went on a bunch of rides, all of which had very short queues. Well, it is the middle of September. One up to my Dad there. The only real problem was Space Mountain (or, rather, Space Mountain MISSION 2, as it's known now). Very cool, but we were thrown around so much we bruised our shoulders. Still, fun. We went on all the decent rides, including Pirates of the Carribean. Twice. Wee! After having dinner at, of all places, McDonalds (Which had the iggest M I've ever seen) (http://homepages.tesco.net/steveemarsden/Disney/McD.JPG)), we went home (Well, to our cabin, but whatever) and went to sleep. Eventually. I volunteered to use the fold-out sofa bad, but it was so squeaky that in the end I folded it back up and slept on the sofa.

DAY TWO

Stupid sofa bed. (http://homepages.tesco.net/steveemarsden/Disney/Me2.jpg) Anyway. On day two, I was sent out to get out free breakfast. One baguette, 8 croissants, one cartoon of milk and lots of misc. sachets. Wee! After that, we went to Disney... again. Today we tried the new-ish Walt Disney Studios, where my mother and sister met Chip of Chip & Dale (http://homepages.tesco.net/steveemarsden/Disney/Chip.JPG) and Pluto (http://homepages.tesco.net/steveemarsden/Disney/Pluto.JPG). Moving on... Rock & Rollercoaster kicked serious ass, as did the Stunt Show Spectacular. It really was impressive - a bunch of cars doing some seriosuly impressive stunts, movie style. Nice. Also went on the movie set tour, and saw some set pieces from Breath of Fire (Nice to get back to London, even if it was only for a minute, and even if it was totally destroyed) before going back to Disneyland proper and developing a technique for the rollercoasters - rather then pulling the headrests ONTO yourself, position your hands so they push it AWAY from you. MUCH better. Then back home again.

DAY THREE

In the morning, while the ladies went shopping (they eneded up buying some balloons in the shape of letters. That's it.), my father and I decided to look around the facilities of the area. We went swimming, where I badly scratched the side of my foot on the steps (by badly, I mean in two places, both with blood), and played crazy golf, which was utterly pathetic and had a ninth hole that was, literally, impossible to complete. Good thing the afternoon was better.

I forgot to bring a hat with me, so my parents bought this one for me (http://homepages.tesco.net/steveemarsden/Disney/Me3.JPG). It's a bit hard to see, but the logo says 'Rock the World' , and underneath it says 'Rock & Rollercoaster'. Why do I need a hat, you ask? Because I get headaches from the sun. Thanks for that, Mum! Anyway, we basically went on everything we hadn't been on yet on day 3. And then we went on the best stuff again. Space Mountain, twice. Thunder Mountain, Haunted Mansion (with the suitably creepy attendants - they must love their job), etc. Good stuff.

DAY FOUR

Just finishing up today. We had to be out of our cabin by 11:00, so we were all up early(ish) and packed before setting off for Disneyland one last time. I'm not a morning person, really (http://homepages.tesco.net/steveemarsden/Disney/Me4.JPG). Redid all the best rides again, and my sister did some of her usual posing (http://%3C/font%3E%3Cfont%20color=%22PaleTurquoise%22%3Ehttp://homepages.tesco.net/steveemarsden/Disney/Kate.JPG) (Sorry it's sideways, I can't seem to alter the picture without corrupting it somehow. Go figure). Then we went home. What fun.

So there you are. My four days in Disneyland. Fun, but tiring. And highly recommended.

Wow, we go to Florida or California to go to Disneyland...you go to France. I can't wait to see Europe one day.

Also...a Breath of Fire movie? WTF?

Also...a Breath of Fire movie? WTF?Sorry, I meant 'Reign of Fire'. My bad. I'm still sleepy, leave me alone.

Disneyland Paris is essentially Disneyland Florida Light. The only reason we go there is because it's closer and cheaper. If you've been to Florida, you've been to Paris, only without the language problems. Or the heat. Or...

Aside from the fact he's British, Disneyland Paris is the exact replica of Magic Kingdom and that's it. Whereas if you go to Disney World Florida, you get to do Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Animal Kingdom and the Water Parks in four days.

Nice pictures. I'm glad you enjoyed yourself, DM.

You're really interested in my sister? There's a first :p She's 18, and leaving for University in a few days. She constantly sings at the top of her voice (it is by far her best asset, but for the fact that she NEVER SHUTS UP), has braces and is quite possibly the most hyperactive person I have ever seen. Have at you, fellow forum frequenters!

The .avi is real, folks. And I got it every single time we went up that path. Gah!

CR - you're not quite right with that statement. It's a very good copy of the other Magic Kingdoms, but some things are missing, such as the log flume ride (Brare Rabbit?). There's also a new park right next to it that's been built fairly recently - Walt Disney Studios. There are, literally, two rides there - Rock & Rollercoaster and Magic Carpets (Think the Dumbo ride, only with carpets) - and a bunch of shows. It's still early days, so here's hoping they get that Muppets 3D show built sometime soon (please please PLEASE!!!).

And yes, the one in Florida is, so far as I can tell, the best of the lot. I've been twice and loved it both times. Hope to go again some day. I've got another story about when the family went to Universal Studios Florida, if anybody's interested? It's a really good one, it involves lightning and everything.

Yeah, I know. I just find it kind of funny how different things are between North America and Europe. Instead of states, you travel between countries. Just kinda jealous in a way.

Don't forget MGM Studios

Heh. Yeah, that was so much better then the Paris equivalent. Walt Disney Studios has the bare bones of what makes a theme park. You can do everything in about 2 1/2 hours, queues allowing. Best things there were the Rock & Rollercoaster (when I get 1,000 posts and can have a custom avatar, I'll use my photo from that ride. You'll love it, trust me) and the Build-Your-Own-Virtual-Rollercoaster. And the Motor Stunt Show. And the Armegeddon Special Effects thing, that was pretty good. But that's it. No Muppets, no Tower of Terror...
