What are the amulets and the book for in zelda classic?

The amulets allow you to see invisible enimies.
When the wand is used, it shoots a shockwave. When you have the book and use the wand, it still shoots that shockwave, but where it hits catches fire.

The shockwave, is when you use the wand and that little "beam" that comes out of it is called the shockwave
