I have just started a new quest, it will be pretty good, and i plan to use the classic tileset, i can make some screenies if you like, however, i cannot get far because alphas tutorial is down :scared:
, however, i will get the basic work done :)

EDIT: I need the tutorial for making the quest, not the screenies ;)

4 screenies :shrug:More like 1. It looks preety good. I like the Dark tiles. it really gives the player a hint that it is dark, or someone evil is being evil. Bloody water. never even thought of that!

I like the castle. Now i could not think of ways to make a waterfall come out of the castle. Nice!

What's all the black stuff?

Also, you might want to delete the comment left there. I hate when people advertise like that.

It looks a little random to me, and, as Cloral noticed, the mountains (I think that's what they are) aren't very clear. With a bit of work, though, and maybe a few custom tiles, this could be good. ;)

dmaps are not the same thing as maps. A map is simply an array of screens. A dmap defines an area the user might explore, for instance the overworld or a level. For a good example, open up 1st.qst. Go to the second map, and notice all the colored regions in the map. Each one is a seperate level, representing levels 1-6. DMaps are used to define the fact that these each represent different levels. They specify the level number, level color, horizontal offset, and other properties. Look at the tutorial section on dmaps, I'm not very good at explaining things like this.

The thing to take from that though is there isn't a direct coorespondance between maps and dmaps. In 1st.qst, there are only 3 maps, but 10 dmaps. So if you need more maps, go to quest->maps->map count and adjust the number there.
