Just wanted to let you guys know that I was just accepted to Baylor University!

I'll be starting this winter. I'm posting from the campus and I'm totally jacked.

Major: B.S. Math/Comp Sci

I quit my band because it was turning into a bunch of commercialized crapola, and it freed me up to go wherever I want, so I'm heading a few hours up north to Bear Country.

Sic em' Bears! :):)

It's absolutely beautiful. I'm going to take lots of pictures once the schoolyear starts and post them. This place is QUALITY. Of course, for $30,000 a year, it BETTER be.

Math and Computer Science. Sounds like a lot of fun. :) That's great Bel. How do you feel about going to a Baptist university?

Not only do I not mind, I really like it. Say what you will about those crazy right wing christians, but they know how to carry themselves. I have never seen so many polite, well dressed, helpful people. I stopped someone in a hall and asked who I should talk to about transfer admissions. Five minutes later I was talking to a councilor. Five minutes later I had an impromptu appointment with the head of all transfer admissions. She conducted an interview for about a half an hour, and afterwords had me fill out an application. She said I didn't have to fill out any of the stuff about my past and I didn't have to write the essay because she got it from the interview and that the application was just a formality. I could start school as soon as I could pay my tuition.

The campus is BEAUTIFUL and well kept. It borders upon spotless. Everyone takes pride in themselves, their environment, and their work. (well not everyone, but it's the general impression.) When you meet new people, they look you in the eye, shake your hand strongly, and offer to show you around campus, as if they have nothing better to do. Strangers say hi and tell you to have a really nice day for no reason.

It's almost as if... they're happy inside. ;)

Have fun man. Party extra for me if you get the chance. ;) I can't wait to go back to college myself. Where is Baylor again? I forget.

Baylor is in Waco, TX. It is about an hour and forty minutes north of Austin.

Here's part of the science building, with a little man made creek running through it. The creek connects to a big fountain, which is cool looking.

... lol, we had the same idea. XD

That's the single largest ... ... basketball-wielding bear I've ever seen! It's a great fountain too. Bel, man, for $30,000 a year, I hope that you really, really like it. It'd just be wrong if that weren't the case. :o

Thanks! I'm very, very excited to start. The only thing I don't feel excited about is paying off $90,000 in student loans! hahaha But seriously, I'd rather have a nice job that challenges me intellectually and live frugally because of loan payments, than work at taco bell into my 30's and live frugally because I work at taco bell in my 30's.
