This is how it will work.

1. Press start, and type whatever you want (make them sentences, with punctuation and everything).

2. Type until the website stops you.

3. If you misspell a word, go back and fix it.

4. Put your speed here when you finish.

On my first try, I had 73 words per minute.

I got 84 just now. Can anyone top that?

97 on my first try, but I stumbled a few times because I decided to change my punctuation. 103 on my second try. :P

I use WildBillBot's @typespeed command instead. I average about 106 WPM. It's better when you're in competition with other people. You learn a lot faster, I think.

80 WPM. I thought I was much slower than that...

According to the numbers, yeah, but you have to keep in mind that we're all typing different words and the average length of the words you typed may be longer or shorter than those who are almost as fast as you, and one also has to consider that the order of letters typed matters because it's faster to type with two hands the whole time than do series of letters with a single hand. The whole WPM system is pretty flawed for those reasons, but they at least give a general idea of a person's speed, which is really all that matters. :)

I got 5264 words per minute. ...using copy/paste. Programmers think outside the box.:)

10840 WPM was what happened when I tried that for fun, and it stopped counting the seconds when I held it down, so I had to tap it...>_>

122 words per minute.

Edit: Just tried it again and scored 155. (and if you're curious, I was just typing everything that was written on that page verbatim from top to bottom over and over again). I type fast.

I used to be able to type about 100 WPM, but that was back in high school. I'm at about 85 WPM now.

79 WPM... I can do better when I'm "in shape" (about 90-100 WPM), but it's been a while since I've typed for speed. I don't know what good typing speed does anyway. It only matters if you're copying something down. Otherwise, at least for me, I can never think as quickly as I type.

meh 55 wpm typing whatever I could think of. I'm not looking to win an prizes. I'd much rather that whay I type be understandable. I could probably get around 80 wpm at some points if I tried though.

Just pressing the buttons as fast as I could netted me 200. This test is obviously flawed.

And mooie, thats quite a large penis you have there ;)

On a second run of copy and paste, i seemed to have caused a buffer overrun in firefox, crashing the browser. oops!

78.. keyboarding class, didn't help .. at all.. it was just annoying.. I hate how it made us type stupid little words.. it honestly didn't help me out at all, being at home and talking to friends online is what actually improved me doing this. My parents till type one letter by one letter.. my dad stares at the keyboard, it's so funny.

I took a different online test and got 87 WPM both tries.
