i was wondering if you can change links colors when he picks up a ring. when link picks up the gold ring he turns grey and blue.

yeah, change the "Link" pallette Csets to the colors you want.

Well hmm, i havn't done this in a while but i think you go to Quest>Graphics>Pallettes>Main and find the Cset of link for certain rings. (It is sometimes hard to tell.) I'm not entirely sure though, just look around Quest>Graphics>Pallettes if you don't see the pallette.

They're in the 'extra sprite pallete 1' area. (Go Graphics->Palettes->Sprites and hit the button labeled '1') They are...

Blue Ring - Palette 6
Red Ring - Palette 7
Gold Ring - Palette 8
Palettes 9-12 are for the Link icons you see when selecting your quest, in the order you would expect. Generally you'll just want to copy the normal ring palettes over, just keep in mind that #9 is for Link with no ring.
