The ever popular Item Replacement Thread :D

Anyway, I've seen a lot of item replacements in quests, and I'm working on a fun lil' quest right now [after playing Isle of the Winds, it got me in a ZQuest mode big time]. So I wanted to change a lot of the items to different stuff, and as I've seen in some other quests, a lot of you are doing this. So why not list all of the possibilities to help me out, and most likely other people. This is what I've got.

Sword - Sword, Sticks, Axes, Spears, Plunger

Shield - Shield, Armor

Boomerang - Boomerang, Axe, Those, spiny disc things...forget their name :O

Bombs - Pretty much just bombs...

Super Bombs - Super Bombs, or a cluster of normal Bombs

Arrows - Arrows, Missles, Kunai, Spears

Bow - Bow, Upgrade Chip thing :O, and an invisible nothing item for items such as Spears and Kunai

Candle - Candle, Lantern, Fire Stone/Crystal

Whistle - Whistle/Ocarina...[usually an ocarina sprite...]

Bait - Bait, or some sort of enemy trapping field item thing...

Letter - A letter, mushroom, or an empty bottle

Blue Potion - Either a blue potion, or a half full red potion

Red Potion - Red Potion

Magic Wand - Magic Wand, Magic Sword, Magic Staff, Magic Watch

Magic Book - Magic Book, Magic Upgrade thing

Hookshot - Hookshot, Whip, Grapple Beam

Hammer - Hammer, Axe, Heavy Sword

Lens of Truth - LOT, some sort of special goggles, glasses...

Ladder - Ladder, Hover Boots, Float Spell thing...

Raft - Raft, Mine Cart

Flippers - Flippers, Scale [ala Zora Scales from OoT]

Bracelet - Bracelet, Gloves

Rings - Rings, Tunics, Armor

Wallet - Wallet, Money holding upgrade thing

Magic Key - Magic Key, New Key, Lock-Picking Tool...

Boots - Boots, Chain Mail

Din's Fire - Din's Fire, Fire Ball Spell...

Nayru's Love - Nayru's Love, Magic Armor

Farore's Wind - Farore's Wind, Teleport Device, Megaman style EXIT STAGE thing...

Heart Container Piece - HC Piece [whatever style], Seed

Heart Container - Heart Container, Bloomed Flower

Rupees - Rupees, "Crowns", Energy, Arrows, Zennies [or Zens...Wily's Revenge folk...]

The arrows can be a lot of fun to play around with. If you make the bow item invisible, you can actually set up three completely unrelated ranged weapons of varying power.
For example:

Wooden Arrow ->Slingshot (Inventory Sprite is the Slingshot, Weapon Sprite is a rock)
Silver Arrow ->Crossbow (Inventory=Crossbow, Weapon=bolt)
Golden Arrow ->Rocket Launcher (You get the idea)

Or you could do it Throwing Stars, Kunai, Spears.

When I said boots, and some of you are like, COME ON MAN, THERES HOVER BOOTS, SPIKED BOOTS...and its like, well yeah, any kind of general boots...and like bombs...I'm positive that TNT and grenades and stuff, claymores, they're still "bombs". Now like an explosion spell or whatever, thats different from a bomb. [shrug]

I've used the whole, make the bow invisible, and set it as initial equipment, so then you just get the different whatevers, except for the tile, you need to move it over to the right a pixel or to, so it looks normal in the inventory window.
