Hmz...
I woke upon a thursday morning once and stayed up all the way to about 2am on the sunday. That was rough times. But it was still fun... You get really fucked up after being up so long that you are almost inchoherant.

39. At least I've beaten someone at something.

Since I'm unemployed, I've often had a bit of trouble getting up in tiem to go to the job center. Simple answer - don't go to sleep. I've only done it twice (I've had my sign in time moved an hour back so I don't have this problem anymore), and neither time was particularly pleasant.

EDIT: Right. Just to see what it's like, I'm going to stay awake for as long as possible from Monday onwards. Just because I can.

4 days. After the second night, it really becomes pretty easy to not fall asleep. I just stand up and I can't sleep... But 4 days is pretty much the longest, as best as i can remember.

When I was in the fourth grade, I had a vicious flu. I couldn't sleep, eat or drink. I could barely drink tea. I think it was my only sustainance for most of the week. I couldn't sleep for three or four days. I won't even begin to count the hours. Somewhere between 50 and 70 hours, I'd suppose. I was such a wreck that week. :shakeno: I'm honestly surprised I got through with it.

Oh, by "couldn't sleep," doesn't mean I didn't try. I can definitely recall looking at the clock once every half hour though, without exception. You don't forget a thing like that. >_<

About forty hours... wake up in the morning on a Friday, pack in afternoon, lay down for about half an hour, get up and leave around 2 AM, fly to Missouri, arrive in morning, go to bed late that night.

I was over 40 hours once. I think it was around 44 and then i finally was able to crash and sleep.

18 hours at the most. If I didn't get tired so frickin' easily, that'd probably be a LOT higher, especially since I hate sleeping.

I've gone about 3 days. After about 30 hours is when it gets fun.

I 've stayed up for probably 24 hours at the most... I get wicked head aches after being up for even 15 hours though >.<

"I haven't slept for ten days!... Cuz that would be too long."

About 26 or 27 hours probably. I don't often go for too long without sleep.

Insane, but almost 3 days. 50-ish hours, and my body just felt like crap. This was a few years ago, and hell... I can't stay up for near 48 hours anymore.

at one point in high school i tried a theory. testing the idea that sleep was an addiction and that i could break the addiction i stayed up for over three days.
Made it about 70 something hours. No drugs or anything.

Felt like absoute shit, and started seeing things. Gave me all sorts of health problems for the next week. never did it again. Nowadays I love sleep.

I stayed up for almost four days once. parents were gone for a week, so i decided to see how long I could stay up. funny thing is, it only took a few hours (five, if I remember correctly) to sleep, and I woke up feeling completley normal

Being the caffine addict I am, I've never stayed up for less than 24 hours this summer. I've stayed up for 6 days. I believe I fell asleep in the bathroom after getting sick.. Staying up is fun, but 6 days is too much.

Here's an interesting article (http://www.kuro5hin.org/story/2002/4/15/103358/720) on the subject. I myself have never tried this sleep schedule, but it'd be interesting to try.

The longest I have ever gone without sleep is about 36 hours.

About 70 hours, I did that actually a couple years ago over my firends house. I brought my TV and ps2 over and we all placed Gran Turismo doing those 4 hour endurance races. Drining Soda and pretty much laying on our sides to try to stay awake. It was good times

Well, once last year I went to my friend's house for the night. We dcided to pull an all nighter. Let's see, I woke up at 7 to get the bus that morning, had a whole day of school, went to my friend's house, stayed up all night, left his house at about 10, because he fell asleep, went home and watched "The Day After Tomorrow, had lunch, took a shower and then went back to sleep. I think it was about 4 in the afternoon when I went to bed.

I was literally fighting the temptation to sleep. It's not hard after you pass about 3 in the morning to stay awake, but once you reach the 24 hour mark, drowsiness hits you like a ton of bricks.

Yeah, I had one of those the other day. I went to a friends house and we both got on Diablo 2 exp at the same time, and played right next to each other... yeah, I brought my PC. And uh.... I noticed the sun coming up after a while. I fell asleep the next day randomly at like 3pm.

How the hell did you manage to pull off 8 frickin' days!?!? I don't think that's very healthy.

8 days? wouldnt your body just shut down? Plus it happened once more with having the flu? I would think parts of your body would just stop moving or something.

My penis stopped working for two weeks. ;)

As for you, Arch, I am an insomniac...and I drink more Dr. Pepper in a single day than most people would drink in a week.

Nothing I do is healthy.

Thats the way I am, I can skip nights of sleep whenever I want, and I recover very quickly. Sometimes, I close at work and get out at about 10:30pm, then come back the next morning at 4am. I usually don't sleep when I work these shifts, and I feel fine the next day.

The most consecutive days I've gone without sleep was about 2 and 1/2. I stayed up a couple nights in a row for a LAN party. By the time I feel asleep I was a walking zombie.

During my USA trip, i did a pretty good run on the way up and back... I don't sleep on planes.

Way up

Wake - 4:00am local time
Board plane to Melbourne - 7:00am (3h)
Board plane to Los Angeles - 11:15am (7.25h)
Arrive in LA - 11:00am local time, 17 hours later (24 hours)
Arrive in Chicago from LA - 7:30pm local time (29 hours)
Sleep at Midnight, after meeting up with several friends, and Artex <3 (33.5 hours)

Way back
Wake up at 5am local time
Leave for airport for 4pm flight to LA from Chicago (11 hours)
Arrive at LA at 7pm (15 hours)
Leave for Sydney at midnight (20 hours)
Arrive at Sydney at 6:30am local time (34.5 hours)
Get stranded in Sydney for 9 hours due to fogging in Melbourne, leaving at 3:20pm (43.5 hours)
Arrive in Melbourne at 4:30pm, leaving airport at 5pm (45 hours)
Take drive home, arrive at 9pm (49 hours)
Sleep at 1am (53 hours).

Now that i add it up, that's a new record. Wow, can't believe i was awake for that long.

Maybe 2 days for me, but I was also younger, if that effects anything. Then later my mom wanted me to work outside and help her in the yard which didn't help.

I've been up as much as around 80 hours, last spring. I was quite ill, and it was difficult sleeping(I need medication to aid the sleep process), as I was out of medication. By the end of it, I simply passed out due to exhaustion, and wound up waking up 2 hours later as my lungs became filled with mucus and I had to sit up and expel it. I did not feel rested in the slightest, and continuing exhaustion ensured that I would not go more than 30 hours without simply falling asleep, even as I sat up.

After DigiPen 2d graphics class, I would regularily go 40-50 hours without sleep every week. I never really kept track of the longest, because it's ridiculous to think that people are intentionally disrupting theirselves physically.

About 48 hours, during the last 2 days of college finals last semester. It practically turned me into a zombie.

My longest? 144 hours or so. I was like 15 and my breathing problems and anxiety were preventing me from sleeping. About the 6th day I simply collapsed and was sent to the hospital. My lack of sleep weakend my immune system and I got pnuemonia. -_-
