Do you do anything at the screen with two 3 x 3 formations of trees--the left one containing a block and the right one, nothing?

If it's the screen I think it is, shoot the block and a staircase should appear in the other formation, one of the trees disappearing so you can get to it. I think it leads to Level 3. Speaking of Level 3, where's the raft? I need it to get the Triforce piece, and I can't find it.

It does lead to Level 3. The raft is in that level (I think), and you need it to reach Level 4.
