I'm mourning a loss today. It's not a person or a pet. It's the loss of my waranty for my laptop.

Why is this a significant problem?

The backlight just burned out 2 fucking days ago!! FUCK.

So i'm a little mad. It seems hardware is designed to only last 13 months, and warranties 12.

Anybody else have a similar problem?

(oh yea, that's why i'm not around here much. I simply can't get online to make posts.)

I had an Apple G3 laptop which had all osrts of problems. The screen on that has also burnt out. I heard that Apple has done a recall on the motherboards for that particular computer, but I think it's too late to send it in now.

Yeah... and not only hardware, either. The same applies to anything with a warranty. It's a pain in the ass.

Even if you're out of warrenty, good companies will still take care of it. Case in point - my GBC busted about 2 months after the warrenty ran out, but Nintendo still replaced it for free.

PS: Since you are using C notation in your title, shouldn't it be:

backlight == warranty ? good : destroyed;

with the '==' instead of the '=' ? Although actually that way if you don't have a backlight or warrenty, then it's good. So maybe your way is better because then not having a warrenty is always bad. (Gah I'm a dork)

I used the = instead of == cause i was using assignment, not comparing.

ANYWAY

I noticed, on second inspection, that a small corner of my laptop was bent inward. I took a pair of scissors, popped it out, and it works now. WHAT THE FUCK.

I'm happy again. I can look at porn.

My laptop works fine, cept it was sposed to come iwth a CDRW. The company was going to send it to me, except somehow a hold was placed on the funds used to pay for it. So now they're mad at me, and I don't get my CDRW.

But the laptop works fine, so I shouldn't bitch.
