I found this very interesting and didn't realize that the "gold-farming" industry went that fucking deep.

wow, that's a huge industry. you could kind of expect it though, if people are willing to pay real money for game items.

The guild in WoW that I was in about 6 of them where ones that were signed on all hours of the day/night farming gold. They signed on for about 8 hrs, log off for a min and log back on for another 8. I miss those guys/gals. The whole guild except for me lives in Guam. They told me that I helped alot of theier guild members with quests and wanted me to join with them, crazy guamers :P
