We've tried a member map in the past, with mixed success. I saw recently that Google Maps has released an official API that could make it very easy map members' locations. They currently don't provide an official API to geocode addresses (translate addresses to Lattitude and Longitude) but you can send a query just as if it was from the maps.google.com page and parse out the result to accomplish that. So... who wants to hack together a member map for AGN?

I expect newer versions of vB will likely wind up having something built in to do this, or some hacks will show up, but in the meantime...

You?
Some people had a hard time downloading earth.google. (http://www.armageddongames.net/showthread.php?t=86571)

Maybe after I'm moved, but right now I don't have the resources. I was hoping some of these high school or college kids with nothing better to do would take on the project for educational purposes.

Google Maps is a web service, so it'd work with most any modern browser. Google Earth requires a good bit of processing power and graphics hardware.
