According to Yahoo News (http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20050703/ap_on_hi_te/china_kicking_the_net) a clinic for Internet addiction has been opened in China. The article listed symptoms of Internet addiction, and I was not surprised to see that several of them apply to me. One site offers a test (http://www.netaddiction.com/resources/internet_addiction_test.htm) and while my score was in the middle bracket (52), that may have been because some of the questions didn't apply to me.

Maybe we all should take a look at the amount of time we spend on the Internet and how it is affecting our lives.

I love the internet and I spend enormous amounts of time on it when I'm at home, but when I'm out or with people it's never in my thoughts.

I don't have an addiction to the internet. Most of my hobbies just happen to be on it and that's why I'm on it a lot. I can get off of things like WoW fairly easily unless I'm doing something that requires continued attention like being in a group for example. If I were to be cut off from the internet for a while things would be dull for a while, but I wouldn't be going into withdrawl or anything.
