View Full Version : Anybody Have the World of Warcraft Strategy Guide?

This is the guide made by BradyGames that I'm talking about, the one with comics by Gabe and Tycho in it. There may be others (I think Prima makes one too) but they may not have what I'm looking for. No, I don't want hints or anything like that. There's an image in there that I would greatly appreciate having scanned.

See, each race in WoW has a crest, such as the Dwarven one seen here:

http://www.planeofhate.com/img/wow/crests/dwarf.jpg

One was created for each and every race and one for both major factions (a composite of elements found on the crests of that faction's four member races). For some reason though, the only place that I've ever seen the Gnomish one was in the strategy guide. It's not displayed during the in-game credits sequence like the others and it's not on Samwise's gallery page at the Sons of the Storm website. It is, however, displayed on the Gnome introduction page in the strategy guide.

Anyway, if somebody has the strategy guide and would be kind enough to scan that page, I would be eternally grateful. Might even give you back your soul, or at least a piece of it. The jar's kinda full these days...

I actually just ordered it from Amazon yesterday because they were out of them at EBX. The only problem is my scanner doesn't work with Windows XP (Yes, it's so old that XP drivers were never made).

The only other way I can think of is to get an extreme closeup with my digitial camera. Once it comes I would be happy to do so for you.

My friend has it (we bought it a few weeks back only to realise it was worthless). I can take pics using a digi cam when i get back home middle of next week if you dont have it by then.

I would be very interested in this as well :) I am working on something where this would be very helpful to have :)

I'm going away for a week, but I'd be happy to do it once I get back. I'll be back on saturday.

That'd be great, link or obi. A scan would obviously be preferred if anybody can provide one, but a digital pic would be fantastic, just so I could show it to people who are interested.

And Warlock... bah, I was hoping you'd be one of the people who had the guide! ;)

Haha, like I need a guide :) This may help me consider getting it though.. but of course, the thing is so expensive..

My manager was really into WoW and had the guide. The Penny-Arcade comics are really funny, but I think the maps and upgrade charts alone would be worth the purchase.

Oh it's certainly a good reference to have, but unfortunately the nature of MMORPG's makes printed information tend to become obsolete rather quickly. Not to mention the fact that the ease of collecting data using the game's built-in scripting language means that up-to-date information is readily available on a number of websites for free anyway, pretty much as soon as the content is updated.

For your enjoyment, some WoW related Penny-Arcade comics:

Yeah, I heard they were supposed to keep it updated via downloadable updates online but apparently they have not produced any yet -_-

Was this what you were looking for? If so, don't ask how I found this....

Gnome (http://www.wowwiki.com/Image%3AGnome.jpg)

By the way, just out of curiosity I went to the www.planeofhate.com home page, and all I got was the message "Hold still, this will only hurt for an eternity...". LOL, WTF kind of site is this? (I noticed the thing wasn't in their crest directory, or else I suppose this would have been easy...)

I still have a shitload of images to add to that, mostly in the war 3 section. I also have some stuff that is unfortunately on a zip disk and my zip drive is not hooked up at the moment (I plan to get a new sound card for my birthday this month so I'm hoping to hook it up temporarily then while my comp. is going to have to be opened up again anyways).

Edit: Nevermind, the war 3 stuff is up now plus some other stuff. I'm going to have to track down the pictures of the original two WarCraft action figures tho (the Footman and Grunt). I know I have them on my zip disk but of course, can't access that w/o the drive hooked up :P
