Have you ever received a speeding ticket? How fast were you going above the speed limit at that time and where were you driving?

I've never gotten a speeding ticket...

I've been pulled over twice for speeding, both for about 50-55 in a 40 zone...but got off with just a warning on both.

Not too fast.. Only 17km over.. But it set me back $129.. My first speeding ticket after only three months with my license...

I've never had a speeding ticket, seeing as how I make a point of not going over the speed limit.

You have to drive to get a speeding ticket. I suppose I could try running real fast. :P The nearby hospital's speed limit in parking lot is 11.5 mph. I think I can beat that.

Damn Victorian, be glad you lasted three months in Melbourne. Your state has the most ridiculous speeding laws on the entire planet. my dad got one of those infamous fixed camera tickets, DT. for 3KM/h over...

Me on the other hand, haven't got a speeding ticket before, i usually stay below 15km/h over. in my state, you need to go 16km/h over before you get a ticket.

Never, it's too easy to stay below the limit. I mean, how can you not tell how fast you are going driving a stick-shift?

I never really speed too much. I just don't slow down much for corners and such. I find it much more fun to take corners at high speeds than go down a highway 30 over.

No.
I heard a joke once where he said, "do you ever say when you get a ticket,' yes the system works,'?"

Once I was going about 90 in a 50 and I got pulled over but the cop didn't get me on radar so I got off with a warning.

Another time though...

76 in a 45 = $310

I got a $105 one for going 31 in a 20. I lucked out, though, because I just got ticketed for the speed even though I had 2 people in the car (illegal in my area), neither of whom had a seatbelt on.

When they get you on radar, there is nothing you can do...

"76 in a 45 = $310"
That must have made a big hole in the wallet.

I've had 4.

47 in a 35, 85 (they clocked us going about 90, but gave us the ticket for the slowest we were going, lol) in a 60, 48 in a 35, and more recently... 50 in a 35.

for 3KM/h over...

The fine for 3-15km over is the same.. so you might as well go 15.. -_-''

But yeah.. dont speed.. speed kills...

Going too fast on country roads is way to easy.. I didnt even realise i was going 150km on the way back from Philip Island.. Until my mate wakes up and tells me there are helicopters that fly by with radars...

I got a speeding ticket once coming home from Ocean City. 55 dollar ticket, cant remember how fast I was going and also a warning on following too close to the car ahead of me. I didnt really understand that one since I wasnt that close to the car in front of me. The guy also had me open my trunk so he could take a look inside it, he didnt find anything

... *eep* ... We only got two tickets that I can remember. One was when we were coming back from a vacation in Niagara Falls. We were going just as fast as the other cars. Maybe slower. ... That's probably why they singled US out. :p  Kinda irksome, because if we were going SLOWER than the other cars, we would be the cause of the accidents behind us. Horrible, I know.

Another occasion was when we were picking up my sister from the nearby elementary school. We were going 25 in a 20 MPH zone to avoid getting hit by an insane driver behind us who was swerving between the lanes. Obviously, they ticket the guy they can CATCH. ... ... * Makes "Cracy" Motions With His Fingers, .. rolls eyes .. *

Thank god I don't like to drive. >_< I'm far too paranoid about going over. I can be seen touching the speed limit often though, in areas of 20 MPH and such. I like to go 25 at all times.

1 speeding ticket.. 1 seatbelt violation...

about 3 years ago, i was driving on th highway to work, doing about 90 (thats what i was told, my truck's speedometer only went up to 85, lol). that cost me... iirc, $125.

then, on the way home from the 03 'con, i got pulled over for speeding, but only got hit with a seatbelt violation. poor goat got hit with one too, but he had his on...

... it's illegal for you to carry two passengers? Could you please elaborate on this? Is your town owned by GM and this law is a ploy to see how many cars they can get a large family to buy?

Probably because of his age, Toolie. In some places, you're not supposed to have another passenger in your car (other than your parents or something like that) after you've had your license for a certain amount of time. At least from what I've heard, anyway.

Bingo. If you're under 18, you're only allowed to have 1 non-immediate-family passenger in the car with you.
