Getting ZQ & ZC To Work

ok i download the files into a folder..etc..etc and followed freedoms guide too. I try opening Zquest and all i get is a Error saying its encountered an error and must close. it does the same with zelda classic too. I have XP Pro and im using Version 2.10 for Windows. I have all the files in a folder. including the allegro and the cfg files. Whats wrong???

XP Pro is quite picky. Are you running ZQuest as a system administrator? If not, that's your problem.

Yes i am an administrator. i tried about everything. Reinstalling it didnt work... But i think theres a way. I made a shortcut of zquest and then clicked properties. Then i went to the tab "Shortcut" then i went to "Target" now at the end of the target do any of yall have anything? Like "-windowed" or "-large"?? Becuase if i put it with windowed i get a small screen of zquest but really slow and i cant see the mouse. And i i put "-large" i get a black screen....then i would have to shut it down with Ctl+Alt+Dlt

Then if you are a computer administrator, I recommend trying this file.

Try Installing Zelda Classic Beta 182 And ZQuest Beta 182 And It Might Work

where do i get beta 182??? I can only find 183

i dont know if this will help...

i use xp pro as well and have no problems running Zquest or Zelda Classic so far, though i did encounter the invisable mouse problem in the windowed version. i just swiched to fullscreen mode to fix that (fullscreen works best for me). as for getting an error message i havent ran across that yet.

He probably meant 183. It was the latest release before 2.10. :)

i cant find it...im in the download section and i see 183 and 163
