Secret of Mana is far the greatest game in existence.

Rarely is found a multiplayer action RPG.

EDIT: My mistake, this is about computer games.

I would have to say that the best computer game is the Quest For Glory games. Such great fun.

Or maybe Morrowind. There's just so much to do in that game.

YES! I like X-Wing vs TIE Fighter, but they dont' have the TIE Defenders so I dunno.

Rome: Total War is very good. I dunno about the best, but I do like the sheer troop numbers in the battles.

Well, I don't really play computer games, but the one I have played is very good. So I would have to say mine is Diablo 2, because that is like the only PC game I have really ever played AND enjoyed.

How could I forget Starcraft!? I forget, didn't it come out in '95? It's amazing that that game has lasted this long and is still fun to play. Truly a classic.

wow, some one else knows about the QFG games. Definatly some of the most innovative games i've ever played, years ahead of it's time. Stats based on what you actually perform, rather than gaining levels, various solutions through most puzzles (dependent if you're a thief, magic user, fighter, or in the later games - paladin), importing your characters onto the following title, with a more or less continuous story. Very clever, very amazing games.
I'd have to agree, adding more of Sierra's games to the list as well such as the King's Quest series up until 6.
cheers,

I don't play any computer games, unless you cound ZC a computer game. I remember years ago I use to love this game called Number Munchers. That was a great game. :P

The Quake series - there's just something about it. Even with the more advanced shooters out there, I still have the most fun playing the Quake series.

OMG the Quest For Glory games!!

Those were so god damned awesome. I had so much fun playing those. While they were not the first computer games I ever played, they were the beginning of my lifelong hobby/addiction of gaming. I was blown away by the sense of "this is really me, I'm really here in this world doing things, making changes, learning new skills." Looking back they were really simple, but at the time it was quite innovative, and to a starry eyed nine year old, they were the greatest.

So awesome.

Guilty Gear XX #Reload.
You've got a killer robot that keeps anti-air missiles in it's kneecaps and a unicycle-powered helicopter in it's head. What's not to love?

Favorite computer game? Hmmm...

I'd have to say I'm tied between Civilization III, SimCity 4, and the Myst chronicles.

Oh yeah, how could I forget HL2??? Counter Strike was just a mod (built off the same engine) as the original HL.

World of warcraft, other than that, probably starcraft.

Out of old games, Commander Keen, Net Hack, Super ZZT

Escape Velocity: Nova (http://www.ambrosiasw.com/games/evn/) is good. It's not too involved. I'ts just a top down space rpg kinda deal. But it is quite fun.

Zelda Classic for me. Gotta love something that let's you make your own games easily. RPG Maker XP is close, but it's a bit confusing, and doesn't have as big a fanbase.

I remember years ago I use to love this game called Number Munchers. That was a great game. :P

OMG, we had that game in my elementary school! It was on black floppy disk (literally floppy), and it ran on an old Apple computer. It was a fun game. ^^

Probably HL2. Such a good game to start with, physics engine pwns. Not over-hyped because everyone hates steam. Also includes ownage CounterStrike: Source, which is great. After that there are loads of mods / expansions that keep coming out. Pure brilliance.

'GunZ The Duel' myself. It's a free MMOish FPS.
