We haven't done this in awhile, I don't think.

Anyway, my top 5 (in no particular order):

1. Final Fantasy VI
2. The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past
3. Super Mario Bros. 3
4. Mega Man X
5. Gradius

Yeah, Is it coincidence that all these games are before the 32 bit era? I think not.

I was around for the 8 bit era, but I really came into my own as a gamer later on. Consequentially I enjoy later games:

ES3: Morrowind
Half-life/Half-Life 2
LOZ: Ocarina of Time
Goldeneye - introduced me to FPS
Final Fantasy (less than or equal to 7) - I played the first one with no idea what RPGs were. Now it's my favorite genre.
Super Mario Bros 3

The Legend of Zelda : Ocarina of Time
Prince of Persia : Sands of Time
Half-Life (The second one's good, but the first is better IMO)
Final Fantasy (If I had to choose, I'd go with 7 - my first real introduction to the series)
Warcraft III

...and, if you notice, those are also my five favorite genres. Huzzah!

In no particular order:

- Lunar: The Silver Star (Or Silver Star Story Complete. Either one.)
- Lunar: Eternal Blue (Or Eternal Blue Complete.)
- Dragon Warrior 3
- Final Fantasy 1
- Phantasy Star series (The first four games, before Sega decided to turn the series into an shitty online game) (well, okay, Phantasy Star 3 kinda sucked. But the others are good!)
- Super Mario Bros. 3
- Pitfall
- The Legend of Zelda
- Doom 2
- Fallout (and it's sequel, too)
- Planscape: Torment
- R-Type

This may be more than five games, the number that others have been using, but there's no way in hell that I could pick only five favorite games. In fact, there are a bunch more that I want to add to the list, but I think it's running a bit long as it is.

My list is the best. If you do not agree with me, then you are wrong.

1. Doom 2
2. Half Life
3. Legend of Zelda: Ocarania of Time
4. Halo 2
5. Super Mario World
6. Phantasy Star Online (all, since they're really similar)
7. Trackmania Sunrise
8. Neverwinter Nights
9. Commander Keen : Marooned on Mars
10. SSX 3

I'm probably missing a lot of games, but these are the games that have held my attention the most.

Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars
Final Fantasy (probably IX)
Zelda: LLTP
Super Mario 2
Kirby Super Stars
Counter Strike

All very well made games. There are alot more, such as Wizards and Warriors, Radical Rex, and a few others, but those 6 are probably my favorites.

Oh yeah!!! Donkey Kong Country 2 was soooo wicked. Great gameplay, diverse characters, the right amount of levels, great themes, and of course, wicked music.

This list would be far longer if I simply listed every game, so when I name a game from a series, I mean to include the entire series with the game. Of course, I'm sure I'm going to leave a lot out, but I'll try my best.

Mario (and this basically includes every game in which Mario is a character - so Mariokart, Smash Bros., Dr. Mario, etc. too)
Zelda
Metroid
Castlevania
Half-Life
Doom
Age of Empires
Jedi Knight (Dark Forces, Jedi Outcast, Academy, etc)
Battlefield 1942
Return to Castle Wolfenstein
Quake
Simcity
Tetris
Contra
Goldeneye
Star Fox
Aliens vs. Predator

That about covers it off the top of my head. Really, I'm pretty sure there are a few games left out of that, too. Oh well, I tried.

You know I feel like a moron, but I would also like to add Adventure Island and its sequels. Those were some wicked cool games. I truly hope they are ported to GBA, because they had such wicked gameplay. Anyone with me?

EDIT I say Wicked too much.

Wow, somebody else who's played that game. It is awesome; I own both the original and its sequel for the SNES. The first was excellent in its own right, with largely open ended gameplay. The second pretty much improves upon everything in the first and adds several new gameplay elements.

My list:

5. Strider(Arcade, PSX)
4. Dracula X: Rondo of Blood(PC Engine Super-CD)
3. Resident Evil(PSX)
2. Final Fantasy IV(2a)(SNES, PSX)
1. Earthbound(SNES)

Favorite video games? Well, I'm not gonna list in any particular order, but here's some of them:

- The whole Final Fantasy series (especially FF1, FF6, FF7, and FF9)
- The whole Zelda series (especially Link's Awakening, Link to the Past, Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask, and the Wind Waker)
- Super Mario RPG
- Skies of Arcadia
- Chrono Trigger
- SaGa 2 (old Game Boy game)
- Tales of Symphonia
- Super Mario Bros. 3 (the original and Mario All Stars versions, not the easier GBA version)
- The other SMB games
- Super Smash Bros. Melee
- Any Mario Kart incarnation except the original one
- Mario Tennis 64
- SimCity 3000
- The Kingdom Hearts series
- Any Sonic the Hedgehog game
- Sid Meier's Civilization II and III
- The Myst series
- Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3
- Duck Hunt
- Earthbound
- Zelda Classic, if it counts

I know there's a bunch more, but can't think right now...

5. Mario Kart 64 - Absolutely uber multiplayer. Loads of fun blowing everyone else up.

4. Goldeneye 007 - Absolutely uber multiplayer. Loads of fun blowing everyone else up. Also has better single-player than above!

3. Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time - The targeting system makes it all good, plus lots for us completionists. I like to replay the final battle over and over!

2. Chrono Trigger or almost any Final Fantasy - Give me a good RPG and it will take over my life. These are great RPGs.

1. Tales of Symphonia - Best. Game. Ever. It hits everything just right. The intro, the graphics, the battle system, the difficulty level, the music, the story. EVERYTHING. And the skits are always there to lighten up the mood. Get it. NOW. It will take over your life.
