How do you create new enimies?

Besides changing the sprites of the orginal enimies, how do you make NEW enemies. For instance, in the excelent Megaman one that was made, there were grey floating things that obviously weren't edits of the enimies in the original game.

Well, custom enemies or bosses are just 1 or more combos placed in the room that cycle between things like "Slash" and "damage 1/2(or 1, or 2, or 4)" and such like that. I say 1 or more, because if you want it to MOVE, you have to place cycling combos on each tile that you want them to move across, at some point. It's kind of complicated, I haven't even tried making custom enemies yet.
