Burning AVIs to a DVD

Can anyone help me figure out how to burn AVI video files to a DVD and make it playable in a standard DVD player?

I'd be happy to help. I downloaded a few tools that made the process fairly simple - let me just zip up the instructions for you. Will edit this post in a few minutes with the link, etc.

EDIT: Here you go. (http://homepages.tesco.net/steveemarsden/Guide.zip) Just unzip and load up the Index page. Not only does it list all the programs you'll want, it also shows you how to use them. If you're not bothered about having surround sound, just check out TMPEnc and TMPEncDVD. Hope this helps you, but feel free to ask if you're still confused.
