how come quests dont come with the passwords for the editor? why does the editor require passwords in the first place? it would be nice to tweak some of your favorite quests with a few new baddies or a blank space on the map you could fill with a special dungeon or something. :D

Because people don't want you doing that to their quest. Also if a quest were unpassworded, someone could open it up, change the header info and claim the quest as theirs. I doubt anyone wants their quest stolen like that either.

oooh, one last thing....where do you get custom tilesets? (as in nintendocrisis and other games) or how do you upload them onto the editor after you've made them?

1) You can make tiles in the editor. This can be slow and tedious though.
2) You can grab tiles from an image (either a .bmp or .gif). Go to the tile editor, right-click an unused space, and select grab. On the new screen, select the filename of the image. Click on the part of the image you want to import, and hit enter. Note that this imports images in 16x16 chunks, which is the size of the tiles.
3) You can import tilesets others have made by going to file->import->tileset. This can be a nice base, but you often have to set up a lot of stuff (sprite tiles, etc), so this isn't the easiest option.
4) Start from a template quest. Several of the tilesets (pure, bs, new1st) have 'example quests' which basically just have the graphics set up ready to go. All you have to do is open one of these quests and get to work. Of course, if you want to, you can add some tiles of your own via either of the first 2 options (but not 3 as that overwrites all the tiles in the quest).

One source for graphics is http://www.purezc.com, then you can click on the links under 'loose tiles' and 'tilesets' - there are quite a few there.
