I don't know if this is the right place, but I just submitted my official first quest. In a few days it will be up, i hope.

But I honestly hope you like it when it does get added to the quest database. It's short, but it's fun while it lasts.

Bam! Now it's in the right place!

Yeah, when it gets added, lemme just warn you on a couple things. *crosses fingers that it don't get rejected*

Pay attention to your surroundings. It's pretty much 1 path in the overworld. That's all I can tell you.

Funny, I rated my own too, and mine still claims to be not rated.

(Maybe I got a "no cheating" tag placed on me. XD)

Lemme also give you some advice.

Most of the dungeons have more than 1 floor, and the last dungeon has a high level of difficulty, you'll be doing a lot of climbing. *i tried using all the monsters in this game*

Feel free to talk about my quest....i'll take all questions you ask.

SoStaci, did you ever read my suggestion about Shining Force II? You used the theme music for the overworld. I never figured that a rival game's music would make it to a Zelda Classic quest-until now.

SoStaci

I don't think I ever got a chance to read your suggestion..

Did I do something wrong?

As far as i'm concerned, i went to this site www.vgmusic.com to get the midi for it. I wanted to be unique for my first quest.

My next one will definitely be longer and harder, but not to the point which will make you stop playing.

Absolutely not. Now that Sega is focused on making games (not consoles), there is nothing wrong with putting Shining Force's music in a Zelda Classic game. In fact, it gives your quest a feeling of nostalgia.

A while ago, I suggested that someone create a quest involving the characters/tilesets of Shining Force II (because I am such a rookie in quest design). Once I know how to provide links to images, I can provide some Shining Force II Sprites.

Kinda likewise with the Final Fantasy Mystic Quest sprites/graphics pack I need/looking for...

Anyway, thanks and have fun. Remember, if you need help or wanna talk about my quest...go ahead.

I think i made it too easy....nobody's needed help yet

Love For Fire

It's only easy because there's not much to figure out... I've completed Level 7 and all these dungeons are far too linear. In the future maybe you should try to create more deviations and puzzles instead of a generally straight path full of Manhandlas and Gleeoks. On the plus side, the difficulty of the game has a pretty steep curve which I like because it's difficult, but not frustrating difficult.

SoStaci
04-24-2005, 12:21 PM
Well I didn't want to start my quest making with such a difficult one. Usually when you make your first one, it's probably the easiest...that's what i did.

In the red candle dungeon I got stuck in the wall in the room where you get a blue bottle and a staire
if you take the staire there is nothing to get but you are stuck in the wall

SoStaci
04-24-2005, 07:19 PM
the stair is just there for decoration. You don't need to go down there.

elise
04-24-2005, 07:41 PM
 I come in a screen with a staire take the staire get stuck in the wall and then you say I don't have to take the staire it's for decoration
Don't you think every player is gonna take the staires ?

SoStaci
04-24-2005, 08:47 PM
Oh

Well, just walk back up if you can. I screwed up on that part so just ignore the stairs then.

What I try to tell you is that I am stuck in the wall I can't move up down right left
Thats why I called it a bug

SoStaci

Oh i'm sorry for that....

*fixes*

There, it's fixed. Now try it.

JayeM

It's not decoration if you get stuck in a wall.

Wow! Awsome quest SoStaci!
Good work on your first one.
Nice music and good story for a beginner...
Something tells me you will make the best quest ever some day...
:) :) :)
Keep up the good work!

You know something...
This is the first challenging quest I've played in a long time...
I beat it in 3 1/2 hours.
Not bad...

SoStaci
04-26-2005, 11:58 PM
AH, you beat it :)

Congrats

Let me just say, thanks to the 117 of you who downloaded my quest last week. I appreciate all of you checking it out, and the 2nd one is a work in progress.

The place you play in is really random i.e. strange tiles and strange layouts. But thats what i like about it so much :). Im up to world 6 and i think it's cool. It's short but sweet and the linear design is good for a change.

SoStaci
05-03-2005, 07:52 AM
ah, thanks.

Lemme just say, the next one is gonna be longer than this quest...

Hulio

Yay, I finally Finnished it.

It's a good thing btw that you left the file unlocked because at some points in the game you would go through a door and get stuck in the corner so i was able to make it work otherwise it would have been impossible to finnish.

Also gannons tower took ages and ages to finish which was cool

SoStaci
05-04-2005, 05:54 PM
well, i don't wanna make it impossible to beat or it's useless.

my next one should be up in like a month or so....gotta do lots of work.
