Can I make the message strings a new color because in a house seen of mine you can't hardly read it. Help would be appreciated.

Yes. Go to Quest/Graphics/Misc colors and change the number in the "text" field.

Edit:
Sorry, I mistook, it seems it doesn't change the message color (just subscreen text). For now if you want to do this you have to change directly color 01 in your main palette.
