Side Scrolling Help

How do you make your quest a side-scroller? I'm just wondering because I think it is easier to make than a non-side scroller based on what I've seen.

Oh. Heh. Not really. ;) ... I think it depends on the combos you use. Those are the things you slap down to make your world.

It really has to do with the walkability. For a floor, (AKA, the walkable space.) You would have combos that look like the floor or wall background area, but have the bottom half walkable, and the top half not walkable. (Of course, there's no jump system here. If there is, it's very complex, and not for newcomers yet.)

Ladders are all walkable. Places where the character can't walk to are unwalkable. Floorspace has the bottom half walkable. Etc.

I think if I wanna make a long and good quest, I should focus on a shorter one first.
