I always liked Gnome better for some reason but usually it took me a lot longer go get things working. KDE always seemed to be a little easier to use. So I usually fire up KDE and don't bother with Gnome.

Between the two I'd say Gnome. KDE is like Linux for Windows users. Plus there was some issue about KDE not being built with free tools.

I normally use KDE, but I might switch to Gnome on my laptop because it is using swap almost constantly right now (only 64MB RAM in the machine). That assumes that Gnome uses less memory than KDE though.

I'd have to go with KDE, because Linux is a difficult to master operating system anyway, and I think that the KDE enviroment somehow makes everything a lot easier to use. But we must remember that KDE and Gnome are not the only enviroments out there, so there should be an other choice too.

KDE has the best fucking UI and most customizable interface ever. KDE is something I miss majorly when I use Windows.
