If you turned it off by accident, go to Settings - Sound, then slide "BG Volume" to wherever you want it to be. Sound and music are autodetected by this version of the game, so there should be no reason why your sound card would not be picked up.

Ok, if you can get sound efx, but no music it could be your speaker. I'm guessing your sound is attached to the motherboard. Check the back of your computer to see if your speaker is plugged in, see if your speaker is on and the volume is up. Windows Volume Control, check that as well.

try to see if there is something wrong with your speakers. If its ok then it should work. If it isn't then there might be something up with your sound. It might not play MIDI files I dunno.

How old is your sound card? If It's very old, then it may not be supported by Zelda Classic?

I give up then. I remember the old versions of Zelda Classic having a sound program, to setup your card, that was eventually dropped I guess because of Auto-Detect.

Try seeing if you can download an update for your drive from...

First: Windows Update (http://www.windowsupdate.com/)
Second: http://www.drivershq.com/?af=driversdotcom&bn=4
