Well, first with the screenshots, then a little more about the quest:

Now for a little background:

Back in 1999, Phantom Menace and I were working together on Zelda Classic (pretty much just us), and we made two separate quests. One was New Quest (mine) as everyone knows, the other was the Demo Quest, supposedly the try-out field for new features BEYOND Zelda Classic. As you know, New Quest was honored and remembered.

Sadly, for our creator of Zelda Classic, Demo Quest never got finished as PM got sidetracked.

So in the summer of 2004, five years later, I asked for permission to finish off Demo Quest to satisfy the urges of the oldbies wanting to save Zelda in that quest, as well as make it playable (if you thought James Quest 2 or Mega Man: DWR DC were hard, pick up Demo Quest from the AGN DB. Makes both of those look easy!) I was successful in updating and adding a lot of ZC's new features and tricks into Demo to re-create the feel it had back in 1999, with new features as well. It's also MUCH more playable now. Unfortunately, much as I love his work, PM tended to be a much better Zelda player than me and his quests were designed that way. Everyone should have a chance now rather than just 3-4 players.

Now to answer a few questions:

1. Why no new graphics?
A: To answer this question, ABSOLUTELY NOT! Demo Quest is a treasure among the old ZC crowd, and putting new graphics on it would disgrace the original's existance. However, it has some nice additions to the Classic Tileset, and does not look entirely like the old tileset.

2. What exactly have I added/changed?
A: Several enemy rooms were brought down in difficulty in the first three levels, and in the last few days, I've been putting a lot of bells and whistles, as well as some Zelda-style custom bosses. Two new dungeons were added, as well as an Extra Endurance Mode. You can also save Zelda now, if you're a good enough player. KEYS WERE ADDED! (for those that played Demo, you'd understand this)

3. Why isn't it out today?
There's still a few things that need to be checked out by my testers, and I want to add one more possible event to the Extra Mode that hasn't been seen much before.

Enjoy!

That third screenshot of level 4 looks intense. I'd better sharpen up my skills before I try this quest. I like the use of the classic tileset. It puts more of a focus on the gameplay, like the original, but the color scheme used is sharp with really good contrasts so the eyes won't get bored.
