For all the linux lovers out here. Make sure you are not using alsa. Download and Install OSS. It worked for me. Oss supports software sound mixing.

I have the alsa service turned off on my system, but I don't have any sound with ZC. (no sound fx or midi)

In previous betas when the allegro libraries were dynamically linked (at least I think they were at one point), I tried editing my allegrorc to choose the sound system I wanted to use. I tried every combination possible, but to no avail. Weird thing is I've downloaded other allegro based games that use the allegro libraries dynamically, and I got sound in them. :shrug:

I'm going to upgrade to Mandrake 10.1 over the winter break. Hopefully the sound issues will be resolved when I upgrade since the new Mandrake uses the 2.6 kernel and not the 2.4 kernel, which is what I have now.
