View Full Version : Having problems playing fullscreen

Each time I try to start ZC/ZQuest fullscreen I got an Error.
The program could not be started.
I don't know what to do 'cause playing in a window works without problems. I'm using Windows XP.
Has anybody an idea how to play it with fullscreen?

when it crashes from the fullscreen load, you should get a file called allegro.log or similar in your ZC directory.

What does it say?

Still, I have no problems running ZQuest or ZC in full screen and I use XP.

It also depends on the version, I suppose. I try to run ZC 1.90 or earlier, and I can't even get it initialized.

That's because xp doesn't support DOS. so the 190 won't work without adding a DOS shell, so I've been told.

As for the betas ( I recommend the 192b183 for now)

There is a sticky thread about command line options by fatcatfan that shows how to set up for different modes.
What you probably need to do is right click on your shortcut, if that's what you are using, and go to properties and type in -fullscreen where it probably now says -windowed OR go to the folder you have ZC in and double click on zelda-w.exe and that should open it in full screen mode.

but check the sticky thread to be sure, just in case I made a boo boo here. :)

I think everything is normal, isn't it?
As you could see I'm using ZC 1.92 (183) so it should work.
Maybe it's useful: my OS: Windows XP Home Edition SP1
