You have to be careful of links sites like that. It would be the perfect front end for a man in the middle attack.

this happened over the summer in a really bad way.

We were playing a game called teragaia. (http://www.teragaia.com) However, when we accidentally went to terragaia.com, porn would pop out on our shit :(

heh, I've had similar expierences with Adult Swim, like using a "n" at the end instead of the "m"; got a hack of a site ripping-off of AS

things like that happen when typing fast...
...or not paying attention to what you're doing

I just use Autocomplete. Then I don't get any mistakes.
Still, typing in a well known search engine wrongly once lead me to a... particularly... horny website, you might say. But I'm not tellin. A) I don't want to get in trouble.
B) I've never looked at it and went off it immediatly, so I shouldnt encourage you.

I feel like a saint.

Heh, a long time ago, I used to be into DOOM WADs, so I regularly visited http://www.doomworld.com . One day a warning appeared at the top of the page, instructing visitors to not mistype the address as "domworld". You can guess where that would take you......... *shudders*

i checked domworld.com out and it had casino sites... what does CASINOS have to do with Doom 3 besides gaming? it should at least have more revelant links!

There's many companies and groups of people that take names like doomworld etc and change them slightly, so that all those people that get typos will be taken to their site.
My little sister regularly visits Neopets. I remember that if you typed "Nepets" then you'd get this site that told you how Verisign was a bad company. Its been shut down now, but it was quite odd.
If I was the admin. of a popular site, I'd buy all the adressess that were similar to the real one.
Like GameFAQ And GameFaQs. Both lead to you the same site, but I can't remember which is the real one. One of them says that it isnt, though...

it's like whitehouse.com and whitehouse.gov. It's funny when teachers screw that up.

I was searching for Beanie Babies so I typed in "Gay Porn" and somehow I consolidated my mortgage payments I'm not sure how it worked but be careful when looking for Beanie Babies.

No really, for any URL that isn't in my typed list or autocomplete, I just go to google and search for the name of the site I'm headed for. Very safe.
