Immobile after finishing Chapter 1 of AD's tutorial

I'm a major noob to ZC and ZQ. I saw another thread about immobility but couldn't quite solve my problem after reading it.

After finishing the first Chapter of AlphaDawg's tutorial I can't get Link to move anywhere. I'm wondering if maybe I could've made a mistake since the newest version isn't exactly the same as the one the tutorial used.

make sure all the tiles Link is supposed to be able to walk on are walkable by pressing 'W'. if they are, try resetting the "system" (File > Reset). also, make sure he starts out on a tile that is walkable

That fixed it, they weren't walkable. I didn't read anything about making them walkable in the tutorial though.
