Okay, I'm thinking of making a quick quest, nothing fancy, nothing new, just quick and dirty, here are the details:
Tileset - Comprehensive Gameboy Zelda Oracle and Season and LA Tiles.
Overworld - 64 screen BS Overworld
Dungeons - 4 Triforce Dungeons (Big Triforce rule), 1 optional dungeon and 1 final dungeon.
Heart Containers Total - 8(!!!)
Items available -
Sword: Up to Magic Sword
Shield: Up to Magic Shield
Boomerang: Up to Magic Boomerang
Arrow: Up to Silver Arrow
Rings: Up to Red Ring
No Boots, Flippers, Hookshot, Hammer, Lens, Super Bombs, Cross or any new items, its gonna be all old school.
It'll be a short quest that is quick and dirty and available for those who want to do speed runs! So......what do you all think? Would it be worth it to create?

Sounds cool. I will have to brain storm some ideas up for you. I know I do have ideas packed away somewhere, but I just gotta find them.

If it's another quest by you, it is always a good idea.
Besides, I would like to see a good quest with Gameboy graphics only.

okay, now that's just embarrassing Z! O_o;;; The dungeon tiles, I've noticed, are a bit lacking, but hopefully I can come up with something that people will enjoy.

Go for it, DFW...I'm sure any quest of yours will be "worth it". :)

Yes, just make it, your huge fanbase will definitely enjoy it :)
FireStorm has done some great work with the GB tileset on his SkyTower demo...the dungeons look quite good :D

no, that just makes you a player.
Anyway, I have it all planned out on paper, I simply must start working on the thing. Depending on time constraints and stuff, I'll try to set a goal for December 25th making it a Christmas present to you all.

No..FireStorm released Sky Tower, which utilises the GameBoy Link's Awakening graphics/tileset very well...more info can be found at the PureZC Fall Expo :)

um......well crap. The palettes in the Gameboy Zelda tileset are crapped up from the version I downloaded from PureZC. The trees are half correct and the other half are screwed up. The main level palettes for overworld and other things are screwed up as well. Can anyone help fix this or know of a better GBZ tileset version?

Hmmm.... let's see....

I just checked the CGBZ tileset that I've got and the colors look fine for the most part. I've been making a DX quest with this tileset for a while, so I've learned that using this set takes a little experience. Namely, you have to know which combos go with which level palettes. This chart should help you decide which set of combos to use when you've picked a specific level palette to work with:

00 - DX Overworld (uses combos 0 to 255)
01, 02, 03, 04, 05, 06, 0C, 0D, 17, 26 - various OoS and OoA settings (use combos 256 to 511)
19 - OoA Mountain (might use combos 256 to 511, but some don't look right so I'm not totally sure)
08 - OoA Darkness (uses combos 512 to 767)
07, 09 - DX Woods & Swamp (most combos look wrong under these level palettes, so I'm not sure)
0E - OoS Subrosia (uses combos 768 to 1023)
0F thru 16 - DX Houses (use combos 1024 to 1279)
0A, 18 - DX Caves (use combos 1280 to 1535)
1D thru 24 - DX Dungeons (use combos 1536+)

Note that this is a general chart, there will be a few combos in some areas that are exceptions to the above rules. Also, you may have to fiddle with the dungeon combos to get some of the Oracle palettes (27+) to work.

Also, if you need small trees, combo 544 is discolored unless you're in level palette 08, so use combo 484 (it looks a little off at the top, but can be fixed without too much trouble)
