I usually don't post topics with stuff I just read off Slashdot (like many people do :glare:.), but this article was too cool to pass up. It's about the history of video game comics, and it is found here: http://www.1up.com/do/feature?cId=3135108

I used to collect the Nintendo Valiant comics. I still have some Super Mario and Captain N comics, as well as the Zelda comics in their entirety (I had a few which I bought personally from the early 90s, and got the rest from ebay). Although they were hokey and corney, I still liked them.

The comics in Nintendo Power were great too, though sparse as they were. I also have a bunch of the early Sonic comics, which were based off the Sonic cartoons (which I also really liked).

Fun times. Did any of you used to collect video game comics?

PS. Remember Howard and Nester from Nintendo Power? Check out this Howard and Nester archive! http://hn.iodized.net/main.htm (now if only someone had the Nester's Adventures comics too).

I still have a bunch of those in my closet. I mostly have the Mario, Zelda, and Game Boy ones. Oh, and some Sonics. My favorites were the Earthworm Jim comics, though. Those was great. And, better still, I just found the whole series online: http://ensho.net/ewj/. Cool.

Yeah, I remember Howard and Nester. I also have a moderately large stash of the Valiant comics (I have about half od them). And when I was younger, I subscribed to the Sonic comics for a couple of years, when they first came out.

I had no idea Earthworm Jim comics existed, though. Rather interesting.
