I think it's great fun to do comics like these, but I don't know about trying to make money off them, considering we're just editing other people's work.

On a somewhat related tangent... today I wanted to do a slight modification of an 8-bit theater comic from nuklearpower.com for my own nefarious purposes, and set out to discover the font used by that comic's author. From their own forums, I found they use "ACME Explosive" which you can acquire here:

The other acme font found there is quite similar. ACME Explosive at 12 point anti-aliased and hinting enabled (in the GIMP) was a perfect match to the comic.
