My windows task manager window

This is some of the shit listed in my "windows task manager" window (what appears when pressing Ctrl+Alt+Delete) Can anybody tell me which of these are (or might be) spyware or viruses, or which ones i can highlight & select "end process" cuz they all take up a large chunk of CPU usage & thus make the computer run very slow.

Yea man. You're comp's been absolutely infested with spyware. Like Starkist said, run atleast Adaware to get rid of that stuff and you'll be fine. :thumbsup:

I saw this site listed on Techtv before, and it has a list of what the system processes look like in the task manager. Anything else is from another program. You probably got infected with some spyware, with names like bargains.exe and webrebates0.exe.

I am guessing you won't be able to reinstall Windows but that would be a good idea if possible. Maybe a friend can do it. If not then Spybot, Adaware, and an anti-virus should help some. You can also try looking in the "start.programs.startup" folder to see if there is junk there.

Quoted for emphasis. You don't need to reinstall windows but I would run these two tools and definitely go through this list (http://www.broadbandreports.com/faq/8428) which includes them as well. I recognize 7 of those as spyware immediately. Run the online virus scanners, too, as one of them looks kind of like a remote admin tool to my uneducated view.

It lists all kinds of programs you can find running in your task manager, both good and bad, and tells you what it does and whether you need it or not.
