Has anyone thought about when this event will appear again?

I don't think it ever will, for two reasons.

Reason one, it's not very possible to make a good quest in only a week.
Reason two, which is the reason the contest was cancled in the first place. From what I heard, the contest caused incredible bickering between members over who's quest was better. To avoid encountering such arguments again, the contest probably will not start up again.
