How many of you have defeated Neverwinter Nights? If you have, you have come into contact with that one boss you never would have thought you'de fight, and you heard the boss music related to that. It's not a midi by any means, (Though one would DEFINITELY be cool. ;) ) .. So you've heard the dire intensity of that theme.

I'm looking for boss music with a "dire" feeling to it, like it's not supposed to be fun, it's not supposed to be entertaining, but it should be hard as hell, and the main character is feeling many dire emotions during the battle.

Can anyone recommend something like that? .. I'll give you a few examples.

*Metroid Prime: Parasite Queen Battle. It has no real music, just a good beat. That beat has nothing but that's necessary.

*Legend Of Mana: Irwin Upon Reflection: -VERY- nice. Very Dramatic. You can definitely get the sense that it's a dire boss battle, potentially the ULTIMATE battle.

*(Slightly) Wind Waker Final Final Final Boss Battle with Ganondorf: .. Surely you all know this theme. It's the theme where you're battling with Ganondorf's final form on top of the .. thing. (I can't spoil anything. ) .. Very dire, especially it's intro. Listen to it, and you'll see what I mean.

So does anyone have any good recommendations? :) .. Thank you in advance! ^_^

Dire, huh?

Well here's the midi I was/am going to use for the final encounter with "ENLIL" in my quest.

Just click and your browser will open it in something.

It's the theme from the Orphanage of Fire sequence from Chrono Cross.

Holy Carp! That's perfect! Thanks Menokh! This is amazing! I never thought something could be so good for the occasion! .. Thanks very much! O_O

.. Does anyone else have any references though? The more, the better. Thanks. :)

Glad to be of assistance.
I have 68.7 megs of midis sitting in front of me, so I can usually find a good one given some time and a cooperative sound card.

Heh. Thanks. :D .. I posted the same thing at PureZC and VGMusic. I hope to get a lot of responses.

.. So Menokh, what would you say is your most intense boss music that you possess? .. May I pick your brain for it? :)

Try using the music from any final battle from the FF games. I suggest One Winged Angel from FF7.

Well, here's the thing. I have that/those, and I don't quite think they're good enough. .. Now, I would use that theme, but it doesn't develop fast enough, and to tell you the truth, it's really not good enough for what I'm using. It's not so much "dire," but it's .. just... really .. I can't explain it.

Wow, don't think I can top Menokh's suggestion, but here's a few "dire" boss MIDIs:

Breath of Fire2 Deathevn Battle (http://www.vgmusic.com/music/console/nintendo/snes/BoF2Devn.mid)

Earthbound Sanctuary Boss (http://www.vgmusic.com/music/console/nintendo/snes/EB_Sndston_boss.mid)
(not so dire near the beginning, but it sort of slows down)

MegaManX3 Kaiser Sigma Battle (http://www.vgmusic.com/music/console/nintendo/snes/29-SigmaBattle2.mid)

Star Ocean "Dance in Sword" (http://www.vgmusic.com/music/console/nintendo/snes/StarOcean_Dance_In_Sword.mid)
(maybe a bit too upbeat?)

That's all I can find for now. Menokh's though, was really good.

Thank you Yoshiman. :) That was very helpful! :kawaii:

Dance in Sword looks pretty good! .. A very good bet, actually. .. Yes, it was a little bit peppy, (Kinda like ketchup, and you like ketchup, but this one has an odd taste to it.)

Earthbound's Sanctuary, ... .. Is it alright if I say wtf? .. No problem. .. It has the right mood to it, but the actual notes are weird. .. Very.. Very... weird. @_@

Kaiser Sigma Battle... Whoah. ... Not sure what to say. .. Not very useful. But thanks. :)

I've heard all of these before, except the Dance In Sword one. Thanks very, very much Yoshiman. ;) .. I'll do my best to use this midi in the quest in question. ;)
