this is my first post on my new lap top which i got for graduation and i need to know how to get things from my old pc to this one thanks

There are a few ways. One way is to network the computer, and copy everything. Burning things you need to a cd or dvd (if you have the appropriate burner). If both machines are running Windows XP, you can use their handy document and settings transfer wizard, which can be run by inserting the CD.

You'll need to give us more specific info on what you need to transfer if we're going to be able to give EXACT directions. However, Goki gets most of it right. I'm assuming you just want some simple files, right? Save games, documents, pictures, etc.?

thanks all i need are simple files
